One of my favorite smaller paintings to work on in 2023, Punk Heart, has sold. This piece was worked on in two parts. I first worked with the model to create the portrait, then continued to work on the piece after my time with the model had concluded until I felt it said something. Many of my paintings are created in this way... looking at the portrait or figure(s) I've created, or how much of that I've been able to get on the canvas, to find inspiration for the type of story or contemplation it can grow into.
